Hot Flashes May Impact Heart Health

A recent study from the University of Pittsburgh suggests that there may be a link between hot flashes and heart attacks or stroke. More than seven of ten women going through menopause may be affected. Women with more severe or frequent hot flashes have an increased risk of developing heart issues. Up until recently, hot flashes were regarded as a bothersome symptom but not one that could significantly impact women’s health. Cardiovascular disease is the number of killer of women. Managing hot flashes should be as important as managing other risk factors for heart disease.
