I think hitting 50 was kind of like, “Cool, we’re here.” It’s great. I’m looking forward to the next 50 but at the same time it’s like, “Oh shit, we’re here.”

I wish I could tell myself five years ago that it will get better. That’s such an oversimplified thing that people throw around—but it does get better and even understanding it makes it better, even if you can’t fix it. Just understanding it helped.

I’m rediscovering a part of myself that’s always been there but had to take a back burner. It’s been really nice to find a part of myself that’s been dormant and be able to celebrate those things that I have always loved and now get to do more of.
